A Quiet Oasis in God’s Country

September 11, 2017 Juvy Dichoso

The cool air is simply amazing. The beautiful village of Talofofo, also known to locals as “God’s Country,” is such a treat on this wonderful day of golf with friends.

With about 112 yards to the pin, you pull out your pitching wedge, and with a little wind to your back, you take dead aim. You swing, but drop your head, as you duff the ball about 30 yards forward. On the next approach though, you pull out your Calloway 54-degree wedge, set your stance, take one last look at the flag gently swaying in the wind, and swing! This time your ball lands 10 feet below the hole. Great shot!

The Onward Talofofo Golf Course surrounds a little slice of real estate heaven that many may not know about. The executive subdivision is located along the 4th and 5th holes of the course. A narrow, winding road through local homes and ranches will take you to a well-manicured, fenced, and gated property, with large, tinted windows. Welcome to 240H Enrique San Nicolas Street!

The first moment is a blur because it is so hard to focus on such a stately home. Pulling into the driveway, you notice the solar lighting on either side, thinking not only is it a way to help the environment, but also a simple touch to create a welcome home atmosphere.

Making your way to the back yard, you are impressed with its well-kept condition as well as the gardens. The perimeter concrete fencing with lighting is very nice and offers a sense of additional security. Just before you pass the back corner of the home, you see glimmering flashes of light that become a large-sized pool welcoming you to an outdoor oasis. This space offers covered patio, built-in barbecue, cushioned patio furniture, and lighting with ceiling fans to keep the area cool on those humid weekends.

Excited to get to the front door, you pass a two-car garage and think how nice it would be on those rainy season days to be able get out of your vehicle with groceries and not get drenched.

Opening the custom front door, you are welcomed into a grand sitting room with 20-foot-high ceilings, custom tile, under-stairs bookcases, and an elegant, simple light system that allows you to control the brightness for your desired mood.

Pushing forward you see the great openness of the living and dining spaces, something your family has always yearned for. With over 3,900 square feet of living space, you agree with your initial thought, “This is perfect.”

You see the kitchen, which is truly worthy of being featured in a luxury home magazine. It’s an open concept with marble flooring, granite counter tops, high-end appliances, and tons of storage. A creative feature of the cabinets is that some of the door inserts were removed and replaced with glass to allow for easy viewing of their Chinese collectible earthenware. You notice the custom stove, but are a little concerned since there is no exhaust fan. Upon further investigation you notice a button, and when pressed out comes a custom exhaust, hidden behind the stove and stored in the island. Fried parrotfish, here we come!

An elegant, colorful glass brick wall brings natural light into the stairwell, as you move upward to the bedrooms. You smile as you are welcomed by a large landing with balcony. You imagine this space to be perfect for your kids’ games stations, or party area for small gatherings.

You go into the first of five spacious bedrooms, and notice how nice the large, tinted windows match the custom-built closet spaces, perfect for your fishing poles. As you continue in and out of each bedroom, you see how much time and thought went into the design of each en-suite bathroom. The themes range from tropical bamboo to five-star luxury spa.

Next up is the master bedroom. Going through the sitting room, with large bay windows, you almost feel as if the space is too small for a master, but, with each step, the space gets larger and larger. You think to yourself, THIS is a master for a master.

Large his-and-her closets, efficient split A/C systems, and a custom master bath surrounds you. Looking at the Jacuzzi-type tub, you wish you had brought a bottle of wine and rose petals to relax and slip away into another world.

At an offering price of $650 thousand, this amazing home could be yours!
