Prubechu: A Taste of Guam in San Francisco

It was a huge leap of faith, but it was time. That’s how restaurant owners Shawn Naputi and Shawn Camacho described an opportunity back in 2014 to open their own place in the 24th street corridor of the Mission District known as Calle 24, an area popular for its eateries, bars, and street life. Naputi was the chef at Roxy’s Café, the restaurant that previously occupied the space at 2847 Mission Street. He recalled the day when the owner asked him if he wanted to take over the lease. “We had an opportunity, and I was like, I don’t know if I could do it. I didn’t know if I could run it, do our own thing, but I called up Shawn (Camacho), and was like, ‘Are you ready to do this?
