Russel Weis was born into a world of grapes. Learning the wine business from his mother and farming from his father, he will tell you that growing up on a farm teaches you nobility in work. “It’s what you see when you watch a family work side by side with their hands. It teaches you the long term, patience, and to be humble in the face of the adversity that you encounter,” he said. Weis grew up learning not just how to grow grapes but also how to bring them to market—one of the elements of sustainability. It’s a life lesson handed down from his great, great grandfather to his own daughter.
