The Philippines’s Manny Pacquiao may not have had a fairy godmother to set him on his way to a better life, but his single-minded determination proved to be the magic wand that transformed his lot.

A lock to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame alongside such luminaries as Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Oscar De La Hoya, Pacquiao’s rise to fame and fortune is the stuff of movies. In fact, his story has been so well told that it has become an inspiration for anyone who wants to succeed in life.
