“I believe in karma,” esthetician Chelsa Chester says. “What you give is what you get back.” Her practice, Island Skin Spa located behind Oka Payless, feels more like the living room of a well-traveled bohemian rather than an office or clinic. In the waiting room, a large golden Buddha beams down over two wicker chairs. Down the hall, Chester displays treasures she has found around the Pacific: an Ifit storyboard from Palau, a chunk of raw jade from Chiang Mai, and paper lanterns left over from New Years past.
