All had heart-wrenching stories of day-to-day hardships during the Japanese occupation of Guam in World War II. Survivors were on hand for the launch of a new book titled, Families in The Face of Survival, held at the Sheraton Laguna Resort. The book chronicles the stories of 15 survivors and how they managed to cope under harsh conditions during nearly three years of enemy rule. It is the second of three books to be published by the Guam War Survivors Memorial Foundation and Senator Frank Blas Jr.
